B.Tech CSE: Eligibility

The minimum eligibility for this course requires, passing the higher secondary school certificate (10+2)examination with science subjects such as maths, physics, and English as compulsory courses. In addition, they must also have one Subject out of Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Computer Science.

Minimum percentage of marks in class 12/ higher secondary Examination is generally from 45% to 50%. Since most institutions have an Entrance Exam, the students who have appeared in Higher Secondary Examination and are awaiting results can apply too.

Some colleges, like Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeeth University, Coimbatore also accept a three-year Diploma in Engineering with minimum 60% marks, awarded by any State Board of Technical Education as an optional factor for eligibility to the program. 

B.Tech CSE: Admission Process

Entrance Test

Some of the Top entrance examinations for B.Tech CSE are as follows:

JEE Main: The Joint Entrance ExamMain applications are available online in the months of December and January. Candidates can opt for either pen-paper based exam or computer-based exam for Paper 1.

SRMJEEE: SRM University conducts a Joint Entrance ExaminationSRMJEEE for admission to B.Tech CSE. The applications are made available online in the month of February and March.

MU-OET: Sikkim Manipal University conducts an All India Manipal University Online Entrance Test. The Test’s application forms are available in the month of March.

The entrance examinations have a negative marking of 0 to 1 mark. The number of questionsranges from 150 to 200. The time allotted for the exam is 2 ½ hours to 3 hours.

Selection Process

The selection of students for the program is based in two ways which depend from college to college which is either by accepting the candidate’s admission solely on the Entrance Examination Score and/or declaring a merit list based on candidate’s performance in Entrance Exam as well as their high school examination qualifying score.

Lateral Entry

The Lateral Entry which means entrance into the second year of the course is also available in colleges likeManipal Institute of Technology, Lovely Professional University etc.
