Masters in Computer Application (MCA) is a post graduate degree in computer applications. This is a senior level course that prepares professionals to meet the complex demands of the IT industry.

It emphasizes on planning, designing and building of complex commercial application software and system software.

MCA is a three years long programme and it covers various topics from information technology, business management and mathematics. Students who join course are introduced to software engineering aspects. This program demonstrates sound knowledge in key areas of computer science or industrial computing. It also carries out the required analysis and synthesis involved in computer systems, information systems and computer applications.

The MCA programme is inclined more toward Application Development and thus has more emphasis on latest programming language and tools to develop better and faster applications.MCA is a full-time degree course with a duration of three years (six semesters). It covers various aspects of computational theory,programming, algorithm design and optimization, network and database management, mobile technologies, electronics, mathematics, probability,statistics, accounting, finance, etc. Some institutes provide a six years (eleven semesters and six months On Job Training) integrated MCA. How are MCA programmes designed As the IT and the software industry are dynamic and fast growing, all the programmes are designed keeping in view the requirements of industry. The programmes aim at the understanding of the fundamentals of computing among the students so that they can compete in the present-day global situation. Should have passed graduation in any discipline from a recognised university with an aggregate score of 50 per cent.
